Patrick L.

Founder & President

Prescott Valley, Arizona

Patrick Lynn is the founder and president of Walkin' TUPH (Together Understanding Pain Health), a non-profit dedicated to helping individuals explore healing beyond traditional pain management. Based in Prescott Valley, Arizona, Patrick created the organization out of a deeply personal journey through trauma, loss, and the daily realities of living with chronic pain.

Before founding Walkin' TUPH, Patrick lived a life defined by service, community, and hard work. He spent time as a figirefighter and worked a variety of hands-on jobs, including road crew work and maintenance supervision at a local hotel and casino. Outside of work, he was known for his love of horses and the outdoors, often spending weekends trail riding. For more than 20 years he also worked as a DJ, building connections with people through music and community events.

"Pain may be part of the story, but it doesn't have to be the end of it."

Patricks life changed dramatically after experiencing profound and personal tragedy and physical trauma. The loss of his daughter at just 4 1/2 months old, combined with a life-altering accident that left him in a coma, forced him to confront pain on multiple levels-physical, emotional, and spiritual. When he woke from that coma, Patrick described having a moment of clarity about what his path forward would be: helping others find ways to live and heal without relaying solely on pain medication.

"When I woke up from a coma, I knew God had given me a second chance - and a purpose: to help others find healing beyond pain medication."

Today, Patrick lives with chronic pain everyday, often rating it between a six and eight on a ten-point scale. Because his injuries are not always visible, many people assume he is fine - but the reality is that chronic pain affects every aspect of his life. That experience became a driving force behind Walkin' TUPH. Patrick believes healing is not just about addressing physical pain, but also about supporting mental and emotional well - being, something he feels is often overlooked in a traditional approach.

Through Walkin' TUPH, Patrick advocated for alternative paths to healing and for communities that support one another through shared understanding. Each time he shares his story and the vision behind the organization, he finds people eager to help and become apart of the mission. For Patrick, that support reinforces what he has always believed: healing is stronger when people walk through it together.

When he's not working to grow Walkin' TUPH, Patrick can usually be found outdoors - drawing, riding horses, camping, or spending time with his friends. Known among those close to him for his resilience and sense of humor, he jokes that his friends refer to him as "Gimpy", "Old Man", or, his personal favorite: "Roadkill". But the humor reflects something deeper about Patrick's character: a refusal to let pain define or limit what is possible.

Looking ahead, Patrick hopes that when people hear his story, they understand one thing above all else-that no matter the circumstances, it is always possible to keep going, to refuse to give in, and to choose a path toward healing.
