Our Mission
Walkin’ TUPH exists to support trauma survivors on their path toward healing, resilience, and renewed connection. Through equine-assisted experiences, participants have the opportunity to develop emotional regulation, increase self-awareness, and rebuild trust in themselves and the world around them. We believe that healing looks different for everyone, which is why our approach embraces holistic methods and meaningful connection as alternatives to relying on medication alone.

OUR STORY
Walkin’ TUPH was born from personal experience, resilience, and a belief that healing can take many forms. Founder Patrick Lynn spent much of his life serving others and working in hands-on roles within his community, including time as a firefighter and years spent working demanding physical jobs. Outside of work, he found peace in the outdoors and in the company of horses—an experience that would later become central to the mission of Walkin’ TUPH.
Patrick’s life changed after enduring profound personal loss and a life-altering accident that left him in a coma. When he woke, he faced a new reality—living with chronic pain every day. While many people expected medication to become a permanent part of his life, Patrick felt strongly that healing needed to include more than prescriptions alone. Through his own journey, he discovered that emotional healing, connection, and purpose were just as important as physical recovery.
As Patrick began sharing his story, he noticed something powerful: people responded. Many had experienced trauma, pain, or loss of their own, and they were searching for support that went beyond traditional solutions. What started as conversations about healing quickly grew into a vision for something larger.
Walkin’ TUPH was created to provide a space where individuals can reconnect with themselves, find grounding, and explore alternative paths to healing through meaningful interactions with horses. Today, the organization continues to grow from the same foundation it was built on—compassion, understanding, and the belief that no one should have to walk through healing alone.
