Walkin' TUPH

Healing Through Connection

At Walkin' TUPH, we provide equine-assisted experiences that help individuals healing from trauma reconnect with themselves, build resilience, and discover alternative paths to healing.

Walkin' TUPH is an Arizona-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting individuals on their journey of healing from trauma through meaningful interactions with horses. We believe that connection-both with animals and with the present moment-can be a powerful catalyst for growth, trust, and emotional resilience.

Horses naturally encourage awareness, grounding, and authentic communication, creating a unique environment where participants can slow down, reflect, and reconnect with themselves in a safe and supportive space. Through these equine-assisted experiences, Walkin' TUPH offers an alternative approach to healing that focuses on connection, presence, and personal growth beyond reliance on pharmaceuticals.

One of our biggest points of focus is filling the gaps that insurance companies won't cover and giving families support through the healing process, financially and emotionally.

Who We Serve

Walkin' TUPH is dedicated to supporting individuals who are navigating the lasting effects of trauma and seeking a different path toward healing. Trauma can take many forms and affects every person differently, which is why we strive to create a welcoming environment for anyone looking for support, connection, and personal growth.

Our programs are especially meaningful for veterans, first responders, survivors of difficult life experiences, and individuals who may feel disconnected from traditional therapeutic approaches. At Walkin' TUPH, participants are met with patience, respect, and understanding as they begin rebuilding confidence, trust, and a sense of inner stability.

How the Program Works

Our equine-assisted experiences are designed to create safe, meaningful interactions between participants and horses in a calm and supportive setting. Unlike traditional riding programs, the focus is not on horsemanship skills but on the experience itself-learning to communicate, build trust, and develop awareness through guided activities with the horse.

Participants engage in exercises that encourage presence, emotional awareness, and connection, all while working alongside these intuitive animals. Horses respond honestly to human behavior and emotion, offering immediate feedback that can help individuals better understand themselves and their responses to stress, fear and trust. These experiences often lead to powerful moment of self-discovery, confidence, and growth.
